This blog is about, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"

“Boys and girls, I regret to inform you that one of our students has passed on.  We will hold a memorial for Michael Dobson during assembly the Friday”. Pg. 3

This quote is about when a student killed himself.  One of Michael’s neighbor heard the gunshot and couldn’t believe that he killed himself.  My brother came to school that day and picked me up because I couldn’t stop crying.  He took me to McDonald’s to get it out of my system before our dad got home.  He made jokes that day and taught me how to paly pinball.

“What do you think Charlie?” Pg. 4
This quote is about what happened in the guidance counselor office.  There was a whole group that went including Charlie.  She never met this man before who called himself a specialist.  Charlie told the guidance counselor that Michael was a nice guy and that she didn’t understand why he did it.  She also told him that she was really sad and she didn’t understand why.  She was still crying and she never did stop crying.

“The counselor said that he suspected that Michael had “problems at home””. Pg. 4

This quote if about what the counselor thought why Michael did it.  Charlie started screaming at the counselor stating that Michael could have told to her.  The counselor told Charlie to calm down that made Charlie cry hardier.  So Charlie brother came and picked Charlie up.  After that the teachers treated Charlie different by giving Charlie better grades but it didn’t get Charlie any smarter.

“There are other people who have it a lot worse” Pg. 4-5

This quote is about how Charlie started to think that Charlie had problems at home.  Charlie thought that people had it a lot worse.  Charlie thought that there isn’t a favorite kid in the family.  The older brother is going to Penn State to play football, younger sister really pretty and Charlie gets all “A’s” in school.  Charlie’s dad works a lot and is an honest man.  Charlie’s mom cries during certain tv programs.

“You’re hurting you Aunt Helen’s feelings” Pg. 5-6

This quote is about how Charlie’s dad slapped Charlie for making Aunt Helen cry.  Aunt Helen was very upset that Charlie got slapped and Aunt Helen told Charlie’s father never to hit Charlie again when she was there.  Charlie’s father said that it was his house and he would discipline his kids the way he so fit.  Charlie doesn’t remember much after that because she was crying hardier after her dad and mom told her to go to her room.  Later when she got up Charlie’s mom was drinking wine and told her what happened to her sister.
